Beth's Story.

Meet Beth who is 6 years old. Beth is currently two years into treatment for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia.

"I had the privilege of meeting Beth, her 12 week old Labrador - Toby, and parents recently. Having introduced myself beforehand in a chat with Mum Karen over the phone. I knew that Beth was not keen on having her photo taken and we decided to just see how things went, for me to stay in the background.

We met at the foot of Penshaw Monument, and climbed to its peak at which point the drizzle started. By the time the shoot was finished it was heavy rain and we were all very wet! However, Beth was an absolute delight, Toby is a bundle of fun, Mum and Dad seemed to enjoy themselves too, and even Simon (the toy Dalmatian that Beth carries for comfort) got in on the act. Thank you all for making it an experience I won't forget".

Beth will complete her treatment in September. She will be on hospital follow up for the rest of her life, to check for signs of relapse and the longterm effects of chemotherapy.

We would like to thank our photographer Catherine for giving time to make memories for Beth's family.
