Lydia has A.L.L. (Acute Lymphonic Leukaemia) and is 9 months into her treatment. She has lost all self-confidence.
"She was nine when she was first diagnosed and has undergone blood transfusions, platelet transfusions, lumber punctures and bone marrow tests. She is constantly prone to infections."
"Lydia gets up and has to have various medication, some have to be an hour before she can eat. If Lydia is having a really good day she goes to school for either a morning or afternoon, going all day wears her out.
Depending on the day she either has a community nurse come round to take bloods and to do dressing changes, some days we have to go up to the hospital for tests and to speak to the nutritionist and the psychologist.
Each day is different, if it’s a good day it means we can do fun things such as go to the park for a bit, do some shopping, usually in a wheelchair because she cant walk too far. If it’s a bad day then its cuddles and dvds and lots of TLC."
"Lydia ADORES Olly Murs, she loves singing too and has a very beautiful voice. She enjoys singing, dancing, drawing, writing stories and loves going to school. Her favourite programme is Tracey Beaker and loves reading Jaqueline Wilson books."
"We wanted some special photos of just Lydia, I know it’s a very hard time emotionally and physically for her and wanted something to show that she really is beautiful, she has a stunning smile and mostly we are all so proud of her and what she is doing." Sarah (Lydia's Mum)
